Bringing Back Classic Chess to the Bluff City Area Through Rated Matches using CXR (Chess eXpress Ratings)
Welcome to the site of the Pillsbury Chess League. This organization is for the casual, coffeeshop, barbershop, and current/former chess club players who wish to play rated matches with their peers within the Memphis, TN, Jackson, TN and North Mississippi area. Rules of Engagement
All games played will affect the player’s overall rating.
Here are the time-controls used:
Regulation Rating–Game in 45 minutes or longer.
(Clock set to 45 minutes each side.)
Quick Rating–Game in 15 minutes or up to 44 minutes.
(Clock set to 15 minutes each side.)
Speed Rating–Game in 7 minutes up to 14 minutes.
(Clock set to 7 minutes each side.)
Results for game in 6 minutes or faster are ignored for rating purposes.
Untimed Rating–Games where no clock was used.
(All games must be face to face. No online games are allowed.)

Reporting a game:
Each player should e-mail the Primary Official at Southaven@Gmail.com with your results, or e-mail a Deputy Official.
The results should have this information:
The “time control” used.
(Example: Game in 7 minutes.)
If an increment is used on a digital clock, submit the increments.
(Example: Game in 7 min. + 3 inc.)
If no clock was used, submit “no clock.” Yes, games can be rated even if you did not use a clock.
Give the White Pieces’ Player’s Name or CXR ID.
Give the Black Pieces’ Player’s Name or CXR ID.
Give the results as:
1-0 (for White Pieces Won)
Draw or 1/2 - 1/2 (For No Winner)
0-1 (for Black Pieces Won)
